CAUTIONS
  • * If the wick size is too large, it will restrict heat transfer to the connection and result in reduced wicking action.
  • * If the wick is too narrow, it will require numerous applications to effectively desolder joint, subjecting the component and pad to unnecessary prolonged heat.


SUGGESTIONS
  • * Use a wick equal in diameter to pad and tip size.
  • * Use a slightly larger diamter wick if cut at an angle
  • * Use a smaller diameter wick if folded.
